Yes I can set it to whatever frequencies I need. Tweeter protection is a problem I am working on. I was finally putting this to a test today in my car. I almost blew up my tweeters. I though about fusing them but that does not help the problem if the software fails. I am not sure what would happen yet, but I was having some driver issues with my soundcard and it's going to be a serious problem I need to consider. I could put a passive filter on them to protect them, but then it introduces phase delay, something which I am trying to eliminate. Frequency Allocator does phase correction int he phase arbitrator portion of is processing, but does not correct for any passive filters I put on the speakers. I am trying to come up with some tweeter protection ideas at the moment.
Polyswitch for power protection (It does start to compress near the top of its range)

Passive would be a capacitor, either have it below your crossover filter range (for safety) or sum it to your crossover filter (6dB at 90 degree phase shift)

Ah I forgot to look for the EQ thread I found/ Here it is:

ElectriQ is supposed to be a very good EQ according to this thread.

Instead of a polyswitch, I was thinking something more like light bulb. I have seen a few companies use this in their passive crossovers. I'll have to find one with the proper rating to match my tweeter and output power. Problem with this is that it doesn't fitler out the frequencies that would destroy a tweeter, so the real only true way to do it is a passive or another active setup, but then you have the phase shift liek you say. it's a no win situation.

I had found that EQ a few days back as well, I left the page open on my computer for days trying to remind myself to buy it....

Here's the link to it for anyone that's interested.

I left the KVRforum open for a day to remind myself to bookmark it.

There is a free version too for basic features. Here are the differences.

If you buy the $99 version, you could use mutliple instances of it in Console to perform your crossover filtering too (It has linear phase/FIR). Hmmm...

IMO This isn't 7" friendly. To much going on I found it easier to tune from the DRC controller then the 7in in dash.

Niskyspy a lot of what you need to do to get a car PC to work with SQ has already been done with home audio a few years back. There just isn't that many people adapting it to a car just yet. If you want to get some idea of what you can do and what is involved I would not only look here but also look into the guys on diyaudio.com as well as people using bruteFIR.

ehm, why are you directing that post to me? I was already in progress with my setup. I've just put it aside for undiclosed reasons, but I was actually ready to tune and install everything. I KNOW what I can do with this
