hey guys and gals.
i own a 2002, 2 door VW golf gti. and was
just wondering if i could fit a double-din dvd
in where the stock one use to be. the stock one crapped out
on me and my warrenty is over. they say if i want a new one it would cost
roughly 400. and i raather buy a aftermarket one instead.
so i saw this really nice double-din at bestbuy, and was wondering if it would
fit. i couldnt get anyone there b/c they were busy. so if anyone knows. please tell me so i DONT waste my money on something that wont even fit my car. thanks a whole lot.![]()

Try this out:
Crutchfield
It will tell you everything that will fit in the car.
hell you could probably fit 12 dvds into that slot but if you take them out of the case only god knows how many you can fit in there![]()
Absolutely 100% stock
It is possible to get a double din in there, Its just a little bit of a pain. Not too much, but from what i remember the back plastic portion behind the radio needs to be cut out to accept the depth of the double din. The cage can be used to mount the double din but the only problem I found was that when I installed a DD pioneer, I had to cut down and shave off portions of the bracket that attaches to DD where it has the mounting screw holes that match up with the cage. After that everything else is cake.
