Help need PLEASE - with sub making a poping noise

    Hi there..

I get a poping noise from my sub when i turn my back window wiper off

when i turn it on its ok then turn it off and get like a DUFF!!

I have it earthed to the back lights bolt could that be the problem..

i did not think it would be that

    Thanks

It probably is, yes. Try to find a better grounding point. Best is to make one yourself, that has a greater surface.....

won't be much better. the earthing point has to be as small as possible, but has to have a surface as big as possible. So the best you could do is bolt it down through body of your car.

you'll have to try. You could drill a hole through the bottum of your trunk at 1 place and put your ground on. But it's very well possible, if you'd drilled a hole 1" away from that, you would've had a bad ground. The most important is to make the ground as solid as possible, scraping/sanding off all the pant and dirt.

A cable that isn't thick enough will bring up other flaws. The fact that you have a pop when you turn on your wiper, is because you're getting undirected power through your wires. I don't know if you've ever been in an old house with bad worn electrical wiring... If you have, you certainly will have noticed lights dimming when you turne on the tv or something. That's be cause it gets a short electrical pulse. And my guess is that you're experiencing the same here.
