    AMPLIFIER PROBLEM!!! Part 2.

Alright i know i didnt include RMS wattage or ohms...so here it is... The L7's both peak at 600 watts RMS, and have dual 4ohm voice coils.

The Orion amp is 1200watt max
    4 Ohms: 250 watts x 1 chan.
    2 Ohms: 400 watts x 1 chan.
    1 Ohm: 600 watts x 1 chan.

The Audiobahn amp is 1600watt max
    RMS Power 800W @ 4 ohms
    Bridged RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 1,600W @ 2 ohms

    Both amps are single channel.

So there are the specs...apologies for the previous thread which didn't include all of this.

Dude, you really need to learn your way around a forum. First the doublepost, now you've created a whole new post as a supplement to your first, causing me to read this, then go back to find your first post, read that, and then try to put it all together. You should have edited the first post w/ this info, and posted it once in one place to start with. I'm not picking on you, I just hope you learn a little from this. I'm still glad to help.

Anyway, first of all, understand one thing first. I do not mean to offend anyone, but AudioBahhhhn is garbage. Orions are pretty good amps for the most part, but its a no brainer to stay away from the audioBahhhhn.

Wiring- It really depends, you probably have two viable options. You could run it either way, series/parallel @ 2ohms or Parallel/parallel @1ohm, the orion probably could handle it. I'd first try series/parallel and see if its enough power for you and the rest of your system.

This is why everyone should buy dual Voice coil subs. There offer you a great variety of wiring ability, safely AND without distortion. Good subs, good amps, hope the rest of the system keeps up. good luck.
Its not the cards you're dealt, its how you play the hand!

Ok, you can't use either of both amps. The audiobahn isn't 2Ohm stable, and the orion has too little output @ 2Ohm..... You'll need the dual 2Ohm L7 if you want to use the orion. And you only have power to feed 1 sub.

Its a tough call though, W7s can handle a bit of a range and they are a bit overrated to start. Given a pair 600w, might not be enough sound wise, but it may be worth a shot if you already have the amps and are intent on keeping them. No, wiring the subs to 2ohms won't hurt your Orion at all, its made to play as low as 1.

Ideally, you'll want to give the pair around 1000w, but I've seen plenty of people give solobarics 1000w from amps of the flea market variety and although it doesn't sound that good to me, they were fine. THose flea market amps probably only put out half of what they are rated....

he's gonna be giving 600watts tho the both of them, meaning 300watts per sub.... You want to be very careful tuning your gains! But it might work.

Yeah, 300 really isn't as terrible as one might think. Certainly not dangerous. Those newer solos are pretty overrated, they have a good cushion, but they respond well to medium power, they have high sensitivity. I've heard an L7 on only 250w and it wasn't all that bad. Surprising, but its true. Especially if you have a good out signal....

I recommend more power for sure, but if thats all you have or can afford, try it and see.
