    Windows 7 Touch UI

According to Engadget.com, a company known as UI Centric is releasing a Touch UI for windows 7 tablets. From the way it looks, it could be very useful for use in the car as well. Does anyone think this could be a new way to use a CarPC?

    Full story here.

A video of it in use can be found here.

That page flip looks cool but it would get very annoying very fast having to do that. Not really seeing anything carPC front ends don't already do-just a little more polish on the graphics.

Thats true, and I totally agree about the page flip but theres one thing I see thats a big plus. Very little setup. If its simple with great graphics it will be a huge win in my book.

There's some screen shots available with the press release here.

It looks a lot like the Windows mobile 6.5 interface, made bigger to fit the screen and with transparency.

Apparently there is competition in this area - another company, Mirabyte, is also working on a "finger friendly" interface for touch screens with their FrontFace application.

Nice find, that one looks like it might be more carpc friendly.

Its a chromium web browser and some fancy scripting thats it...first one looks far more promising.

Centrafuse does feel old. The lack of animation in the UI is no longer a requirement for low power computers.
