Google Earth won't embed

I dont know if I am missing something but I can't get google earth to embed into CF as an external app. I have it pointing to the correct exe, which does indeed launch it. I have set the window name to "Google Earth" just as it shows in the taskbar, but it just stays in its own window. What am i doing wrong?

I never got it working right either. I believe the problem has to do with the login window that pops up during launch that has the same title as the main window. When that dialog goes away Centrafuse looses track of the app.

Yeup... I concur.

I made a suggestion back in the beta days that CF needs to have a way to "hunt" for a window based on title or name. At the time, I was trying to embed a custom app that had a launch window, then destroyed it when the primary window came up. CF watched the launch window, then when it got destroyed, it didn't try to find it again.

Having CF actively hunt for a window name would help the GE issue.

Sounds like a great idea -- continually update app tracking. I'm sure there is a way to differentiate between and actual application and just a dialog box too.

Another option would be an optional delay before CF started looking, but the first idea is much better. Stranger yet is that Google Earth embed WOULD work *sometimes*, but I wouldn't find any consistency.

Are there any other apps with similar problems? I imagine anything with a splash screen is also a problem.

either that or someone design a plugin. goops is REALLY cool if you don't need directions or anything on a particular trip, cuz u get to see your car overlayed onto satellite images rather than just a map.

i got it working, sorta by first running GE in the background manually, and then pointing CF to a random text file as the 'application' but keeping 'google earth' as the window name. that way, when i click the button, the text file opens but the google earth window gets embedded. seems to work as long as i dont exit out of the text file. i would like a better, non-ghetto option tho.
