need a guide, when i set my computer from the microsfot speech thing v 5.1 to SAPI Development engine, i cannot do lots of features, im not sure how to tell if my mic is "hot" and im not sure how to set the keyword....

Goto control panel the settings are under 'speech' there you can select your microphone, and any relevant line inputs to make it work.

Best way to check is to use Sound Recorder under entertainment on start menu and try and record something, that'll give you an idea if its working and if theres any interferance etc, that might affect it...
