    XM Radio Issues, please help!

I have a HD RADIO and XM DIRECT, when I first installed everything, I had HD RADIO on serial port 1 (com 1) but my XM DIRECT (serial port 2) would not install.... I finally did get it working by switching them. HD RADIO works perfectly in CF, but XM RADIO does not at all. If i use the software from Mitch, it will power on the radio, then say radio not activated (even after several refresh requests from XM).

So question is: How do i get the dumb refresh signal. Two, how do I get it to work in CF, do I have to install the plugin from Smesson (sorry if I spelled it wrong) or what do I have to do?

    Two ways:
    1. Call XM customer service (800-967-2346) and ask them to resend it. Have your Radio ID ready.
    2. Do it yourself from the website:
      • Hit http://xmradio.com/
      • Click on "your account" at the upper right
      • Register if you don't have an account
      • Fill in or find your Radio ID under "RADIO(S) & SUBSCRIPTION"
      • Click "Refresh Radio" next to the ID you want to refresh

What version of CF is this? If it's 2.x then you have the latest plugins from Scott.

I finally got it working.... I wasnt leaving it on long enough to refresh. I still have the issue with CF though. Works using Mitches software, but CF shows nothing at all. Do I have to go to a screen and configure something? If yes, I cant seem to find it!

Yeah, the refresh can take a while... You're halfway there!

The 2nd part is to get into CF's "Advance Settings" and set the COM port and XM interface type. You can do that one of two ways:
    • To enable Advanced Settings temporarily, hold down the "+" button in the Main Settings Screen for 6 seconds. (NOTE: This won't work if you have some sort of "auto-right-click" feature enabled on your touch panel software)

    • To permanently enable Advanced Settings, pass the -advsettings command line option when starting Centrafuse. You'd do this by modifying the shortcut that you're using to launch CF.

Hmm, ok... I haven't loaded 2.x yet, but in 1.47 there's a module called Sat Radio. The XM setup is in there.

The Satellite Radio settings will indeed show up if the advanced settings are enabled. Maybe you're looking for "XM" but it's called "Satellite Radio."

Also note that there were issues with XM in RC1. Not sure if you're installing RC3 from RC2 or RC1...

I had RC1, had problems with the HD RADIO and XM being on diffrent comports. They had to be on specific com ports or neither would work. i uninstalled RC1 and did a clean install of RC3. Managed to get the HD Radio working perfectly. i had read that i should have been able to change the com port for HD, but the option isnt there. So I put the HD Radio on com port 1 since i knew it would work in CF. I then found the Sat menu, and assigned XM to com port 2, hit save and went to XM..... noticed that there was no sound, so I went to the sound options and saw i had the wrong thing, changed it and prestooooooooooooooooooooo. My CarPc is now 100% done........ all i have to do is get the dash fabbed, the seat fabbed and then i'll be done 100% with Stage 1 of my truck remix.

PS: Only thing that didnt work is the OBD2.... the unit came from China and i had issues from the first day I got it. Well 2 days ago it kicked the bucket, so I have to replace it.
