Thread: Cyrillic encoding in contact list

after reading a number of posts, especially in russian forums and after playing a lot with all kinds of encodings got to a point where i am really stuck. trying to import my contact list into centrafuse and it reads fine the latin characters, but shows "?" instead of cyrillic ones. everyone claims that the solution is to convert to unicode. Done that, and actually it worked perfect for Zorro's Contact plugin, but still get nowhere with the Phone's contacts. even if i switch to russian keyboard in centrafuse and manually create a contact it would still display question marks. it looks like while initializing it updates the phonebook.vcf file, coverts it to utf-16 but somewhere in between it saves it as a different format, probably win 1251, and that's where i lose all russian encoding. programs tried: editpad (the best in my opinion), notepad, unicode rewriter, stirlitz IV. any help would be appreciated
