haha I think this would be extremely cheesy. Reminds me of Bonzai buddy...definitely annoying. If you want basic speech recognition, Centrafuse handles that decently. Maybe it's just me, but anything involving talking to a machine feels kind of weird.
If you want something custom shoot me a PM...my company has the tech to pull it off. You certainly won't find anything good for free though, it takes a tremendous amount of R&D and coding time to pull off good speech recognition.
Well it needs to be done right. Advertising a program as capable of speech recognition is like advertising a car as capable of "driving"...theres a whole range of what that means.

There was a thread posted by SyberShot talking about Ultra hal; I was reading up on this and there is a 3D animated interface, with the ability to change based on your preferences - check out the expansion packs and plug ins. :eyebrows:
I think I posted in the Ultra Hal forum, if not I do remember reading it. Since Justchat_1 is in here.... Dont setups that listen all the time use alot of CPU? I think that was the reason that Centrafuse went to a push button type setup to activate voice control. They said for the PC to listen all the time will tax the PC. I prefer the always listen way, because with me having to puch a button to get it to listen, I can simply push what I want to do in the first place.
I guess a lot of CPU is relative....if listening all the time you need an activation word otherwise it can be rather high (depending on the size of the recognition grammar). Even then, I know its minimal on a modern PC but probably significant on something like an atom.

I will say i have never named my cars, They have always been my baby and generally thought of as a girl... even my current V8 i see as a girl...
1: She is always there for me!
2: She is nags me with notices like tyre pressure
3: She loves agood hard thrash any time ;)
4: She is sexy!
5: I take care of her
But as to why i dont name them, The only car i named i had to tell her all the time i loved her and would have to call her by her name to make sure she kept on going and every time i used her name... With in the next week something would go wrong.
Since then no names, Had better luck.. So for me is a luck sorta thing.
My 5 cents, these days 2 cents rounds down to nothing ;)
LOL....... but your car is sexy!.... Mine is a big SUV, if its a girl I have to compare it to a fat girl, maybe even one of those lady bodybuilders that are girls but now have bodies of guys. The thought is gross..........
I decided to name it Zed (named it how UK people say Z, I dont know if Aussies say the same thing). I am going to program it to sound evil, like the evil kitt from knight rider, which was actually the voice of Optimus Prime (cant remember the actor).

NO, believe it or not I like girls to look like girls and guys to look like guys. Anything that is crossing paths doesn't tickle my pickle at all. I guess I can say I'm a very conservative person and things like girls looking like guys, flaming guys, drag queens, trannies, I don't agree with any of that. Mind you in the past I would bash people like that, but now I have come to realize they are good people to, I just don't like nothing like that near me. I know it sounds kind of wierd, but I would have to say there are different classes of gay/bi/lesbians within their groups. Im conservative and choose not to be part of the scene also.
