I just got a D945GCLF 1.6 atom with 2gb of ram for 31 bucks. It should be fast enough for what i want to do with it.

Isnt that with a single core processor? You might end up getting stuck with slow speeds. All though with 2GB of RAM, that should make it snappy.

Yea its a single core. I mainly use the carpc for music and navigation, and take a phone call every now and then. Hardly ever watch a divx or dvd. On the centrafuse forums there are a few people with same board that have had good results.

the atoms are actually really nice when you factor in the power usage... because they DO run win7 ok and they WILL playback any video outside HD content. i run win7 media center on one of mine, it does have some lag here and there but for the most part it works well. whats awesome about it though is i can leave it on all day and it doesnt effect my power bill.
