I have done a bunch of searching and cant seem to find any recent posts or info, only things a few years old.
Is there a USB FM radio i can use that will plug into my car antenna and work?
Would like to have some radio with my carputer.
I got one of these a while back (http://www.mp3car.com/centrafuse/109...adio-work.html) and attempted to attach the plug to it, but when i tried to use it i didnt seem to get any signal in centrafuse (maybe i need a closer look at the drivers).
But until i can look further into making this work, any other suggestions? or should i just persist with getting this going?
The best solution for FM radio: http://www.mp3car.com/user-innovatio...les-ready.html
Not as simple as just plugging it in, but it works great and is worth the fuss IMO
Both of those are solid options! I just installed a visteon HD radio (basically the same thing as the directed version) and the reception is pretty good. Reception is not quite as good as a standard head unit, but 90-95%. Installation was a breeze as well. 12V, Ground and a remote wire. Plug the Sound out into the line in on the computer and done!
Will this work fine in australia?
And does this work with centrafuse?
Im going to do a little bit of searching on this.
Thanks a lot for the replies :)
Not sure about Australia, but it will work in Centrafuse.
Alright, thanks. Will try to find some more info about it
Can anyone suggest any cheap and cheerful $10 unit off eBay which works with Centrafuse ?
The truth is, there isnt one. I tried various usb radios and ended up wasting about $50 before I bought the Visteon. The USB radios do seem to work well if the car is parked, but once you start rolling you will get no reception. I even modified a few of them to try to amplify the antenna strength to no avail... Just buy the Visteon or Directed and save yourself the disappointment of buying something that will never work.

Also, in Ireland, we only have FM Radio (no HD) so is there a better chance that cheaper USB sticks might work reasonably well ?
