No Bluetooth Menus in Settings
Having an issue with setting up bluetooth in Centrafuse 3.5. I have bluesoleil installed and generic usb bluetooth dongle. When in settings if I choose bluetooth settings, I get a blank screen that still has pages 1-4 IIRC and the (X) and save buttons. Can still scroll through pages but all are blank. Once in the screen the only way to exit is click "save" and "yes" to over ride current settings. Centrafuse never shows the "Bluetooth Not Initialized" error, I only just get blank pages in the settings.
I had previously had Centrafuse 3.5 with the same bluetooth dongle on an identical laptop working flawlessly. After the phone was setup I went back into settings to make some changes and the blank settings menu showed up for the first time. At this time everything was still pairing properly even though setting were blank. Deal w it and figured it was a fluke and moved on.
Fast forward to CarPC installation. Different laptop identical settings hardware, peripherals, fresh xp install, yada yada and the outcome is the problem stated above, no settings but no error messages and cannot setup to pair with phone.
Anyone know what the issue may be. TIA! Also BTW is there any to not have to be approved for every post made? Thanks!
USB positions affecting this?
I'm having the same issue (empty BT menus), but I also have a strange issue with the (USB) GPS receiver.
Both BT menus and GPS worked well when the system was connected on my "lab" table for integration testing, but started misbehaving when actually integrated into the car.
The change? Well, several things change but most noticeably, the USB devices (BT, GPS) are now connected to different USB sockets. The GPS was connected to a hub and is now connected directly, and the BT dongle is connected to a different socket on the same hub.
Both devices still work well hardware-wise - phone pairs with BT and the GPS LED is indicating proper satellite reception as well as proper COM port mapping in the control panel device section.
I will first try this:
1. Focus on BT: move the dongle through all hub sockets and retest, to see if the menus come back.
2. If yes, theory confirmed and step 1 will be repeated with the GPS receiver. If not, I'll reinstall CF to see if this helps revive both devices.
The "theory" is, of course, that "some sort" of ID is changing when USB sockets change, causing CF to stop recognizing the devices.
