by now I think you might have decided to rebuild the music manager...while you're at it could you please add something like "jump" in winamp...where a window pops up and you write the word(s) you want to search on your music library? It would be great if that option could pop up a keyboard and then when the music file(s) was selected the keyboard would go away
great softw man!!! congrats

I just tried the 1.0 beta version, and I must say that it looks very promising.
It seems to be rather stable, but somewhat slow on my machine (old 800Mhz laptop).
I have a few things that I would like to see in the next version...
- the video player should keep aspect ratios. A 4:3 movie should not be stretched to fill the whole screen on my 16:9 monitor.
- support for launching and embedding external apps (this is a popular one, as others have also suggested it).
- possibility to "hide" the menu in other modes than in the GPS-mode
- read ID3 tags "on the fly" whan adding files to a playlist (winamp does this), this way you dont have to go to the settings and read ID2 for all files.
- remember the "mode" (directory / category) in the music manager
Keep up the good work!
BrianMay/Cris: I like the search idea will implement something like this... didn't mean to forget to respond to you cris
anohman: All those sound like good ideas.. Not sure about reading ID3 tags on the fly though... winamp is a little different application... It browses music based on filenames and then just displays ID3 tag information.. My application has to be able to browse music based on ID3 tags, which requires me to have all the ID3 information in a DB for querying...

another ideia...don't know if this can be done but..what about support for .srt and/or .sub subtitles files to used with .avi files??I don't mind not having that but .avi files ar for my passengers and not for my...and some of them aren't very fond of "non-subtitled" stuff
might be possible don't know much about it... I will look into it...

Yes I know that it (centrafuse) browses music based on the info in the ID3 tags, BUT it can also browse by directory even if the tags have not been read for files in that directory (ie they will not show up in the by category menu).Originally Posted by veetid
So my suggestion was just to have the application read the tags automatically (if they were not read already) WHEN the files were added to a playlist, so that I dont have to go to the setup/read tags everytime I add more mp3's.
anohman: I see what you mean... Not a bad idea when browsing by directory, but I assumed that when you browsed by directory you would only want to see the real filename... And if you added mp3's and didn't import you would'nt be able to find any of your music in CATEGORIES mode, which is what most people use....

How about allowing current audio source to continue when using GPS.
Sometimes I listen to videos, and as soon as I switch to GPS Centrafuse goes back to MP3 Mode. As a mater of fact, how about all audio inputs: MP3, DVD, FM, video, and hopefully XM soon. I routinely switch back and forth from each of these to the GPS.
