Any idea what the fix for this is?
Using WinXP Pro SP2.

Try intalling MDAC 2.8 from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

If XP was setup and working right you shouldn't receive these errors. JET is registered by default on all XP installs. Something has messed it up on your setup. Hopefully re-installing MDAC might fix it...

Interestingly, when I try to install MDAC 2.8 it says it isn't compatable with my version of Windows, and when I try to install Jet 4.0 Service pack 8, it says I already have a higher service pack installed (which I guess is XP SP2).

Interestingtly I found a download on microsoft called jet4repl.exe that supposedly replaces some files included with Jet 4.

I able now to import the ID3 tags, but it is still unable to play any MP3's.
Yes I do have the DX9 and Managed DirectX installed, and I did delete the config and try to recreate things.

I really do want this to work, as it looks like a cracking application in the making.

Just an update and basically what I posted to a similar thread with problems I was having with Frodo, incase it was of any help.

OK, I can now get Frodo and Centrafuse to play MP3.
Have the Ogg plugin/filters for Winamp and WMP9, but can't get either Frodo or Centrafuse to play Oggs.

I double checked I had DX9 installed, I added managed DX so that Centrafuse could play MP3's.

I couldn't install MDAC2.8 or JET4.0SP8 as XP SP2 already has greater installed (either through SP2 or through Windows update being ahead and out of synch with normal downloads). I did install jet4repl.exe from the microsoft site, and .NET 1.1 (thought I had it installed although it may have been 2.0).

Frodo and Centrafuse now both work.

Additional help for those having Radiator problems with WinTV cards on XP, This thread sorted out a known problem, at least it did with my WinTV PVR card.

Skraggy: In order for CENTRAFUSE to play ogg files you need to add support for the extension. First, after installed ogg support, make sure you can play those files from media player. Then edit "config.xml" in the CENTRAFUSE system folder. Add the top you will see pipe delimited values that represent all supported extensions. You need to add the ogg extension to the end, in the same format, and restart CENTRAFUSE. It should now play fine..

OK, I have checked that Oggs play in WMP9. No problems there, and edited the extensions line as
<MUSICEXT>wav|mpa|mp2|mp3|au|aif|aiff|snd|wma|og g</MUSICEXT>

Oggs still don't play in Centrafuse, but Frodo will play Oggs.

Actaully, scratch that, I have Oggs playing now too. Don't know what I did, but it works now.

OK, I guess the Jet4repl.exe fixes some incompatability between the pre and post XP SP2 jet install.

As it worked for both Frodo and Centrafuse, and I was having DB errors with bot, it's a good thing.

All I need to do is actually build the new car PC, and I'm away.
