    Is CF "touchscreen only" application?

I got some time to play with my software install today so I could finally install CF to see how it works as I was looking forward to do so few weeks now. Indeed it is great looking piece of code that needs lot of work on the other hand. First think that dissapointed me was to realize I can only navigate through interface with mouse. Bad for me I do not own touchscreen... Or is it just my fault I could not find how to make it work with keyboard/remote (I would not be that much surprised)?
The other bad side of story is CF seems really ssssllloooowww The GUI is just not really responsive and all those "loading" screns took their time. The problem is I have pretty same kind of config most of us here does: M10K Nehemiah with 512MB, but I felt like back in 1990 with i386, 512 kB playing solitaire in Win 3.something.
I think this is where CF loses its credit.
Do not beat me, its just my opinion. I still keep my fingers crossed

I haven't added keyboard or IR support, but it is being worked on... The speed issue has a thread in the main forum. I have already resolved the speed issue and the next release will be much faster. I completly re-wrote the entire graphics system to not use anything from .NET, but all Win32. All these issues will be addressed very very soon...

if you had read the manual, you would've noticed that you can set up hotkeys. Unfortunately, such is the nature of .NET. In MHO, it is an evolution of the Microsoft VM and therefore will be slow on a slow processor. I plan on running CF on a Duron 1.6 and am happy with the loading times. If you can't stand the loading times, don't use CF. Hopefully, future versions will use optimized code.

BTW: Which frontend were you using before?

Thats great news! Do you mean .NET will not be entirely needed to run CF or will it still be needed because of rest of code?

You will still need .NET, but it runs a lot faster... It also uses about half the memory now... It is running so fast I have taken the loading screen away, because you don't even need it anymore

DRWeside: Ohh yeah... I do have keyboard support... There are a ton of configurable hotkeys just for this purpose, thanks for reminding me... I have been coding so long I am starting to forget what I have already done

I do still plan on adding IR support and possibly way to tab through the application and have it show a highlight as to what button you are on, but IMO using the hotkeys is the fastest / best way to interface with my application using a keyboard. Tabbing through things sucks.. If there is a function that you need that I don't have hotkey support for, just let me know and I will add it...
