if so, try *99# as your dialup number. This is your network's GPRS service.

tried that it does something but not a lot - ifi setup BT Modem CF can use GPRS to get the info its after from the web??

Apologies if this is really obvious, but for most carriers, you have to sign up for their GPRS service first, before *99# will work.

Vodafone also have GPRS for WAP and GPRS for Internet access as separate things on some tariffs. The first will only get you WAP from the phone, the second is needed to use the phone as a GPRS modem for the PC. Dunno if the other networks are the same.
