its probably the extra periods in the file names im assuming from a similar thread.
edit : nvm that didnt work, still wont play the mp3s even that i renamed em wit no dots.
got something against n.e.r.d? =)
Media player plays em all fine, but a few albums wont play and a few songs won't play off other albums. they all show up as 0:00 for track time.
A few random songs are silent until I forward through the song a little and then it picks it up quick.

dyneinbreed: There are some mp3's that programs like windows media player and winamp will play that CENTRAFUSE won't. Currently I use all DirectX calls for audio and video and DirectX excepts only a valid mp3. Most likely the mp3's that won't play do not have their headers in the proper place, therefore not making them valid mp3's. Window media player and winamp put methods in place to move or search for the header, I am not exactly sure what they do. The fact that they might also work in MediaCar and/or Frodoplayer is both those programs are wrappers over Windows Media player and Winamp...
I had like 15 or so mp3's out of my 3000 that wouldn't play and when I scanned them with an mp3 tool it told me their headers were not in the proper location and they were invalid. I am going to look into what wmp and winamp implement, but it hasn't been a big problem for me... There are programs that can fix those mp3's also... I used one at one point, but can't think of what it was....

is there a program or utility out there that will scan all your mp3s and tell you which are the "bad" mp3s with the header problem. i dont want to click each individual mp3 and see if it works in centrafuse or not.
theheel: There is one... I used it once, but can't find it... I got it off download.com at some point... I will try to find it... It was just a simple free program that scanned a folder, reported all bad mp3's, and allowed you to delete them...

But I think he wouldn't delete them![]()
yeah i dont really want to delete them. Maybe I can burn them to cd then rip them back to mp3, i wonder if that would work.

I also have issues where CF won't play some mp3s unless I fast forward just a bit into the song. The counter incremements like the song is playing, but no sound comes out. If I just tap fast forward or move far into the song, it continues to play fine.
Is this related to the "bad" mp3 issue?
I'm curious what audio codec CENTRAFUSE is using.. most likely not WMP or Winamp.
