No complaint or anything like that, but only out of curiosity, why don't you use .Net 2.0 ?

Fortunatley I don't suffer from any performance issues (P4-M 1.6) the only thing
I find a bit surprising is that CF is a real resource hog, ~85MB in memory usage if you're
using destinator and have clicked around in the menues. ~45 MB initially.

In the 1.20 release thread, David mentions that the graphics would be re-worked in the 1.30 version. I'm hoping that there is a progress bar also.

I'm running a M10000 and CFuse is running lightning fast for me... I'm also using phonecontrol and widcom 4 for bluetooth, and while they take up a lot of resources (widcomm in particular), it still stays manageable. I've even got girder running in the background and iGuidance loaded as well. The only slow parts I ever experience since upgrading from 1.0 are the initial loading screens, but that's certainly understandable; once everything is cached, it's super quick.

I did, however, try running an audigy 2 NX in my setup for a while, and that brought the entire machine to its knees. I appreciated the better sound quality, but it wasn't worth the severe performance loss for me.

Fastenough for me to - just loading screens that aren;t used very often is the slowest.
andif your driving (and not running it on a desktop!) then you prob wont notice the "loading" text as you should be concentrating on the road!

How much memeory are you running? Integrated video?

I have a hard time believing that 200mhz is making it rediculously slow (I'm running the epia 800), I have a gig of RAM too.

But the other day I finally got my Epia M10000 for the car... 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM. The peformance degradation is incredible! Response time is virtually instant on the other machines, but on this one, I have to wait 2-5 seconds before CF realizes I've clicked and goes to the "down" state on the button... even longer for the screen I selected to load.

Other apps on this M10000 seem to respond well.

Bizarre, I know, and I don't have any recommendations. Just thought I'd point it out.

Reading things like the makes me think that the speed problem isn't all hardware related. Some people are getting very fast speeds while running 800mhz procs, and others are still complaining when running 3.0ghz procs. I really hope v1.30 is A LOT faster....

CF is only slow the first time yuo load screens it has to do with they way .NET works. Atleast that is what i heard. it builds a 'database' the first time and after that its fast.
my destinator map resource down permanently

    triad:

I'm running a 1/2 gig in my box. Are you running an Audigy NX as well? I'm perfectly happy w/ the way everything runs w/o it.
