Im using an M10000 as well and its quite slow
Slow enough for me to notice it but not slow enough to get too ****ed at

I like CF so Im living with the slow speed
If you can make it faster though....Id be all for it! Id heavily consider paying for the software if the speed was brought up to a reasonable level

sorry, but i'm coming into this a bit late. just wondering if any of you have tried ngen? it basically creates a native image of the .net executable and installs it in the gac (global assembly cache). it should at the very least make it start up faster. i don't use CF, but I know this is a good trick sometimes for heavy .net client-side apps.

I gave it a try but got an error messsage. Maybe it was my syntax:

    ngen centrafuse c:\centrafuse\centrafuse.exe

    the syntac would simply be:

    ngen path_to_exe

When you install a new version you MUST delete it from the GAC. Either use "ngen /delete path_to_exe" or just use explorer and go to the "C:\Windows\Assembly" directory.

Only thing is, if there are other .net dll's that it uses you should make native images of those too. Read that document I linked, it's got the full details.

I did read it, but most of it is over my head. The first line shows "ngen [options] [assemblyName |assemblyPath ]" thats why I went with "ngen centrafuse c:\centrafuse\centrafuse.exe" I'll give you're suggestion a try and let you know what happens.

TimmyM the syntax you used is if your executable is in the current/active directory, which it wouldnt be..
    Use
ngen <path to exe> and it will run..

However i tried this and my frontend crashes (granted i use AutoTouch but in principle it should be the same)

I think its because you have to ngen each assembly or dll that the frontend uses?

Not a programmer here, but any info would be good info

    Thanks

You people do realize this thread is 5 months old and is not about the current CF release right?
