Well?
I have noticed this as well, this software looks great but it's just WAY too laggy.
I'm completely new to the carputer scene. I just put together a machine, M10000-512MBRAM-40GB. It's running great, ran a pass of nLite (my first try) and I saw your Centrafuse frontend and loved it. I do notice however it does take a while to load things, and response time is kinda laggy. Is this normal? I know we're only at 1GHz here, but I thought it would be alittle quicker.

as a noob to all this id say try other Front ends and see whats suits you better.
all front ends are evolving slowly and not the finished products so bear with it and im sure the next release will be improved further- not to mention they are free![]()
(Im running a laptop so no problems)
Well, I have been using MediaCar (now RoadRunner) foe quite some time now. However, I really like Centrafuse, and hope the next release will have less bugs andbe fast enough.
And I want it NOW![]()

THANK YOU!! I have the same problem and David said it was my computer. I've been trying everything I can think of and still no joy. Try using PhoneControl.NET. Bet you have the same problem. personally I think it has something to do with programs written in .NET. I'm not a programmer so I might be way off base. But things like MediaCar, Frodo, NMC all run fine. But anything that mentions .NET run real slow.
BTW I have a Celeron 1.1G, 256M Ram, WinXP Tablet.
yeah i installed centrafuse on my house computer and saw it ran a little slow, but i was reading the forums not to long ago and it said that lag was fixed in the newest release, any one know about this?
It didn't seem to help me much. In the house it takes a bit to load but works fine after that. BUT the house computer is a Athon 2800XP, 512m DDR, dual SATA in RAID 0, ATI 9600. Car is Cleron 1.1G, 256M, single IDE drive, ON BOARD VIDEO and sound. I can watch each button draw and the music starts playing before I see anything on the screen. Moving between menus takes long enough to make me wonder if I hit the button right.
Running an Epia MII10000 w/256 MB RAM and onboard VGA.
Installed only Centrafuse and .NET, and disabled everything in Centrafuse I didn't need. Still slow. I am also not a (serious) programmer, but I also have the impression of .NET being slow as ****.
BTW, I am using the newest release.
Well, we will just have to wait and see, complaning will get us nowhere.
Just stick to <insert favorite frontend> until these issues are resolved.
oviously you're not married.Originally Posted by code-
That's what I've had to do. I use NMC during the day (no night skin) Frodo at night with LS 2.0 skin, because they have a progress bar which is needed when I listen to audio books. Centrafuse sometimes for music because even though it's slow it's still my favorite, love the music manager. Even go back to MediaCar with a custom made alpine blue skin (the old reliable).
Mobile Media Center is built on .net and is very fast... the reason alot of people have performance issues is due to many factors, one is the machine your on, two, how optimized the code is and the level at which the code was written in (C++, C#, VB, ect...) and other dependent applications also, like Windows Media Player, Winamp ect... To get the absolute best out of an app you need to look at how the archetiecture is and what your requirements are to use it.personally I think it has something to do with programs written in .NET.
