Thread: Ok....whats the deal with destinator

merging maps is not possible, for the destinator you need to have the SDK (just install mapmonkey) and replace the DLL so you can use full size maps etc

for instance, my map covers entire west coast, so I just cut it down to southern california.. map cutter included with PPC version. so that my PPC had a 20MB map instead of a 200mb map ( on a 512 CF card )

It is possible... just currently no one has figured out how. If you can cut them down to size you can merge the two. Somone needs to reverse engineer the splitter application.

If i was smart enough to i would. The problem is that most people wont bother doing that because there are so many options for GPS software for us in the the USA. Why bother...

Why because destinator is actually kind of cool if you jump over the huge map split up issue (only for USA, other countries are 1 map) and the lack of street names in 3d view.

So who wants to do tackle this one?
