Embed Reversing Camera in CF

@ David,

how do I embed an explorer window with my webcam in? I have set the Visualisation button to open my reversing webcam, but it just opens an explorer window ontop of CF. I'd like it embedded plz

same old story, grab the window name and put it in cf configuration under gps or radio

Will that work though when I'm using the Vis button to open the cam window?

One other thing I've noticed, if I open cam through My Computer rather than using FrodoCam or other webcam software the frame rate and pic quality is much better. And CPU usage is about 70% less (P4 2.6). FrodoCam seems to be very pixelated with a very low frame rate. DirectShow through Explorer gives near Video Camera quality with my USB2 cam. Anyone got any idea what causes this?

I don't want a reversing camera that just blurs and becomes useless once there is motion.

I'm pretty sure that since visualsations run on top of CF and are not embedded windows you can't embed your reverse cam if you use the vis button. I believe that Frankino was suggesting you reprogram your radio or GPS button for your reverse cam.

exactly but I think it won't work due the layered windows used by david, this does not allow me to embed application such as dscaler or similar
will wait for a future release

Ive already been embedding it into RR, I just wanted to see if he wanted to add it to his own code since the source was free.

So can you give me an idea of what code to change/add and to which file to embed webcam where radio used to be (as I don't use Dlink radio anymore due to lack of RDS)

In the cf configuration set the RADIO PATH to the program you'd like to embed, set the proper window name and uncheck the "use radiator" option
after this you can change the RADIO label in the mail window editing an .xml file (not sure which is, take a look at them)

I've tried it the way you said, and it would work if my camera didn't take like5 seconds to initialise. By this time CF seems to have stopped looking for a window to grab... It works nice with my OBDII software though...

I hope David uses DirectShow for the future implementation of a rev cam as the refresh rate seems far better than the other methods.

Looks like im gunna have to wait for CF2.0
