rice crispys?
how is the cpu usage
I'm having this issue in CF where I hear artifacts when playing mp3's. Almost like snap crackle and pop. It sounds like audio distortion in the music. Some tracks, it's very bad and sounds like the song pauses every half second. Other songs, it's slightly better, and you only hear the occasional sound artifacts.
I played the same mp3's directly in WMP10 and they play perfectly fine (no artifacts). I thought it may be a codec issue, so I removed the MP3 codec (using the Radlight filter manager) and when I tried to play mp3's in WMP10 again, it automatically d/l'ed a new codec. After the codec installation finished, the mp3 played fine in WMP10. When I tried again in CF, there was still distortion.
I reinstalled CF and that didn't help. I updated the .Net framework and that didn't help either.
Someone please help! Thanks!

-Jesus- King of Kings Lord of Lords
good question - will check it out in the morning and compare CPU usage against WMP10.
Hey Dave - offer up a suggestion. Thanks!
Just checked CPU utilization and it was in the 7 - 17% range when playing mp3's. David, do you have any ideas?
I've never experienced or heard of this behavior... Try re-installing DirectX and Managed DirectX....

it still seems to me a codec issue.. try to remove "strange" codecs (maybe not strictly mp3 codec) and reinstall dx

I have had similar issues after installing those monster all-in-one codec packs. This was a year or so ago using those k-lite codecs. I would "re-start" with your codecs.

I would say it's over modulation .. basicly your source signal (fromt he pc) is too loud for your Head Unit.
if you have no HU , disreguard this statement, and send me those rice cripsies..

Here is a thread in my forum... Someone had the same exact problem you described and fixed it by finding the bad codec and removing it. He did uninstall his codecs, but it didn't fix the problem because the uninstall wasn't actually removing them.. He had to manually uninstalling them...
