would be nice if i could keep CF running and then close explorer when finished (keeping cf up and running )
so i guess running it as an app is not poss then ?

not sure... it might work... go for it...
note: I don't know what the window name would be to embed... It would launch it anyway and get a handle to the process, so it should be able to close it as well... just not sure about embedding it...

with my "yes" i meant that it's possible to embed windows explorer in cf. i was playing with that earlier.
here's the code from the external.ini:
Code:<APP4> <PATH>explorer.exe</PATH> <WINDOWNAME>My Documents</WINDOWNAME> <DISPLAYNAME>EXPLORER</DISPLAYNAME> <PAUSEMUSIC>False</PAUSEMUSIC> <LINECONTROL>NONE</LINECONTROL> <STARTFULLSCREEN>False</STARTFULLSCREEN> </APP4>
I don't think he meant Windows Explorer (to browse files)
I think he meant explorer.exe, so if you run it as a shell, you can open the start menu, desktop ..... ....
I'd also like to know how..
gotcha, i did miss the start button part. but if you can run explorer and browse files you are already able to access most, if not all of the functionality within windows..
