Hehe... I got a registration request. Add a "Paste Product Key" button so we don't have to manually type it in or copy it in 4 sections from the e-mail (I got that idea from using SnapStream Beyond TV betas all the time).
Ok... I'm trying out 1.4. Looks very cool man. I like much of the new stuff I am seeing. I see the Library button returns to root, you have <parameters>, new full-screen without Key/Close bar. Here's some things I'm still dying to see:
1) A lot of the time the title scrolling up top does not get updated. In 1.4, it seems to always display the last Music file played even if you are playing a video now. In 1.3 I have seen it display the previous song when I manually selected something else from the list.
2) When playing a video, the "visualization" (eye) button does nothing. It should switch to full-screen just like clicking the video thumbnail does. The hot-key should work like that too.
3) There is still no way to find a song by Artist/Song-Title. I don't have more than one or two songs for each Album. Therefore Artist/Album/Track# sorting is anoying and useless to me. We need to be able to select our own custom db sorting options using any order of standard ID3 fields. Preferably I would like to be able to configure 4 new buttons on the Now-Playing list to re-sort the list according to specified DB fields, but being able to define the Media Manager's "Library" screen items and their sort-order is a must.
4) In addition to "Load" which clears the list and plays the new stuff, and "+" which just adds the new stuff to the end of the list, could we have a button that adds the song and begins playing it? (...or is that what Adv. Manager does?)
5) Only the top bar switches to/from full-screen (not the lighter blue bar that is still in the always-seen top section). In fact, clicking on that bar never does anything. At first I was thinking that you should at least be able to click (or double click) the text such as "Pause" or "Random" to switch random/repeat modes or to play pause (maybe that could be the always-pause-even-if-another-song-is-highlighted button). However, now I think it is the solution to the missing Key/Close buttons in full screen without bar... You could make it so when you click that bar, it changes into a configurable button-bar (which would include Key/Close buttons).
6) IMHO, any list when navigated with the up/down arrows should scroll (not "page"), and always show at least one song above and below the highlight (unless you are on the very top or bottom song). Example: You start at the top of the list. As you press down the highlight bar begins to move downward through the list. Once you get to the second-to-last song, the highlight bar remains at the same location, but each item in the list moves up one (removing the top item and adding a new bottom item BELOW the highlight bar). Only once you get to the bottom item would the highlight bar move to the bottom item of the list. This allows you to always see what is coming up and what you just past as you move through the list quickly. For longer lists, the "sweet-spot" might be third-to-last or even forth-to-last, as long as the highlight bar is always below center when you are moving down.
6.5) There needs to be some action for holding the page up/down keys. Smooth scrolling that started off kinda slow but got faster and faster would be cool, but I understand this may be hard to implement graphically, plus it's not very "car-friendly". Therefore, I think a very good alternative would be to make it display the current letter, and then move at an excellerating pace through them (because for me at least, the current method of letter-seeking is not very "car-friendly" either).
7) Speaking of the list items... it would be totally cool if "we the users" (not the skin creators) could choose a "list: number of items" and "list item: font size/style". I realize you would probably have to change the way that part of your skins work, but it is something on my wish list anyway as I have so far been too lazy to customize a skin myself. LOL
PS: If I start repeating my requests too badly, feel free to tell me "No... now shut up".
Edit: Quick update... I just realized the mute button should be the same as the "always-pause/resume-even-when-the-current-song-is-not-highlighted-in-the-list button". When would you ever want to mute, but keep playing the song? I suppose if you were watching a video you might want to leave it playing without sound... or would you? I'm not sure I would???

Tap the timer and it'll switch to time remaining.
Gracias!
Would be nice to have an option to automatically enable Fullscreen visualization. I'm not too fond of hitting the little 'Eye' icon back and forth.
I would like an option to automatically enable the fullscreen visualization after a predefined amount of time, ONLY when in media view. (I don't want this kicking in, if I am in GPS, or another app)
Can we add this option? Thoughts?
EDIT: WOuld also like the 'last setting' on the music screen, to be independent from Fullscreen. The reason is that I would normally prefer to have the alvum art shown in the Music screen, while I prefer the band-analyzer in the fullscreen mode.

Can we have either an option from within config or an XML entry to allow custom album art names instead of just being fixed to album.jpg![]()

I am unable to rename my existing files as there is over 185gb of music on my media drive and it takes it an age just to list the files nevermind rename them...
The last time I tried an auto file renamer it took over 4hours to search and rename 25gb worth of albums. That much stress usually makes the PC lockup and become unresponsive![]()

What was the final verdict for those of us with VIA M setups, that are having troubles getting rear speaker output to work with 1.3/1.4 ? Should I look at gettng an external USB sound card, or.... is there some special way to set up the VIA M(10000 specifically)?
Thanks.

you just need to install the older drivers... The one from my M10000 disc works fine... I can control the rear/sub when they are in the playback controls section, but the newer drivers place those channels in a new section "Other"...Originally Posted by defsquad

You HAVE to be able to scroll down the current playlist without move the "playing highlight", don't know if I make myself clear

Did you try my advice from the thread on this subject a couple of days ago? It will take seconds to rename your entire library to folder.jpg. You just need to download a free program and then create a simple DOS batch file to make it work. If you want to give it a try email me and I'll help you through it.
