Here's an idea that actually makes sense

When browsing by Artist, and the albums are displayed, can you make them sort by RELEASE DATE automatically? The Release Date is part of ID3 tag.

I guess if it is empty, then just sort by Album Name. Almost all MP3s and OGGs that I hev either encoded or downloaded carry this information.

You don't think it makes more sense to see all albums for a given artist, in chronological order by release date? This view is a VISUAL one by nature, and you can hardly see the text anyway. I figure if I load all these albums, I would know where to look (beginning, middle or end) based on the chronological release date...

I totally agree (even though I don't have any complete albums and would never use Album view [aka: The current Artist view] anyway). The real answer is though: This should all be configurable. I want to secify how many root-views there are, and what the lookup order and sort order is for each view (all based on ID3 fields OR directory structure OR other "import-plugin" [just like Meedio does it]).

Edit: Infact, maybe you could support Meedio's "import-plugins" and then we would already to be able to categorize movies based on artist/director/genre/decade using IMDB lookups, import BeyondTV descriptions and info, import video-game rom screen-shots and info (plus do lots of other cool stuff). Humm... I almost wish I could make a "player-plugin" for Meedio that would use CF to play everything but I could use Meedio (embedded in CF) as the database engine.

not sure if its been asked but are you going to have any option that will give an external app full and i do mean full screen.

wow works great within CF and it looks great.
i was thinking that you could have a small overlayed square that we could position within the xml to get back from fullscreen. a bit like the mouse click monitor thing that comes with the lilliput software but smaller and transparant
what do you think ?

yeah I can see where it makes sense. And I could see where I may want the option every once in a while ... but on a day to day basis I'd rather do alphabetical.

in external apps, click for >2 sec in running ext. app is picked up by app as a right click??

yeah it does but it buggers up the single click thingy....

if we can code it into here then it will work in the instance where we are most likely to require R. click
