Tip for those using CF 1.4 and constantly switch between MUSIC and GPS

I found it annoying that if I had the GPS window open in fullscreen mode, the only way to jump to the Music section was to Hit 'HOME' and then hit 'MEDIA'.

The solution I was looking for, was to have the MEDIA button at the very top left, in the place where the HOME button is located.

Doing it is not too easy... you actually have to go the the skin file, and swap the entries for <BUTTONS>/<HOMEPAGE> for any of the <BUTTONS>/<MAIN1>...<MAIN5> entries. (I chose to put the HOME button at the very bottom, so I swapped it with the <MAIN5>

Sorry if this is confusing... but if you've played around with the XML files, you know what all this means.

A request for Dave: Could you allow the assignment of the large 'HOME' button the same way you assign the 'MAIN' buttons? (i.e., in the Buttonactions.xml file). This way, it would be very simple to configure the use of that button, with the MEDIA button, or whatever other action folks want to permanently have at the top.

Lol, that was um too easy and painless. So yeah, because I'm selfish, could we stop requesting more additions for David? I know this one was a simple one, and I"m glad it was and I definitely see use for it, but it just sort of prolongs the release date. I'm speaking for myself here, I'm sure, but you know, I just want 1.5 to come out sooner than later.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't really need/want this on 1.5, nor do I want this delaying the 1.5 release. But I also wanted to make sure this 'improvement' was communicated to Dave. That's what the Beta is about, no?

Justin I 100% agree. And like I said that was just my thoughts on the situation, only because i'm a selfish bastard, and really didin't anticipate him dropping in new requests into 1.5 so quickly and dilligently, which actually is a VERY good thing

Hopefully he'll feel comfortable with 1.5 at some point and after that will be able to release small "hotfixes" much like Guino.

So please don't take my comment as calling your request a waste of time or anything else such as that. You're right, that is what beta testing is for

HOME is now an available action... so it can be assigned to any button... All button actions can changed on-the-fly in the upcoming release... You get a nice list of all available buttons. Once selected you get a list of available actions which dynamically include all setup external apps or installed plugins...
