I'm a retard. I did not have SAPI properly installed after all. Will test this now, and see how it goes.

OK, I am having problems enabling SAP on my Home PC. Seems like I have a software conflict that I am not willing to try to troubleshoot. So screw that.

Will have to try it in my CarPC, where SAPI installed successfuly. Im just not willing to install 1.5 yet for permanent carpc use, so will wait until there's a stable update before I try Voice commands on my carputer.

Can anyone explain how it is that the background (loud) music won't interfere with the voice commands?

Should any simple computer microphone work fine? Do I need anything special like a microphone array or anything? Also, I've never used it but would assume once the computer heard "computer", it would mute all audio.

I cannot get it to work. I can change the voice comannds i the voice command setup, but I cannot get CF can recognize my speech afterwards. I have installed SAPI and tested the microphone.

I use a USB microphone from Logitech.

Can someone help me. I have enabled speech in the setup.

are you saying the keyword first? "computer next song", etc...

if you can change the voice commands and it works, then that should mean SAPI is installed and working...

I have changed the keyword to "PC" and I have changed "Load DVD" to "DVD". It is as simple it can get

I am saying "PC....DVD". Should CF do anything so you can see you are saying the correct word?

it should just perform the action you requested... do none of the commands work? you might trying putting the keyword back to a word... it's also a good idea to have your commands a little longer than one word or you will have the computer think it hears commands when listening to music and just start doing things on it's own...

I have now changed the keyword back to "computer" and "load music" to "get music". Nothing I say when I stand i CF is understand unless I am i the setup where I can change the voice commands. CF do not respond at all to my commands!

I am now saying "computer get music".

Voice works fine with my system. My pronounation of words is really off as well.. Here is the steps I do to get it working...

    1. Install the voice software...
    2. In the control panel go into speech
    a. Run: configure microphone
    b. Run: train profile (I know it takes a while but it does help...)
    3. Configure CF.
    a. Tools > Voice Cmds

Don't use a text editor and configure the speech.xml file it won't get you anywhere... When I used CF to learn my voice commands I had better success. Also try to learn 3 or 4 times and take what ever command comes up the most. What I mean by this is when I say something the computer hears it a bit off most of the time..
When I say "load genre" 4 out of 5 times the computer hears "loaded generic". True this isn't what I am really saying however does it matter? Not really no.

Also in my car, when I am driving at higher speeds or have the music too loud no voice command works. Even if I don't have music playing a window down or even road noise can stop a command from working.

This is whay I think David should make the VOICE button a momentary one. In other words:

I am driving and listening to music, loud. I want to say a command, and to do this, I reach my finger to the screen, and hit the VOICE button, leaving it pressed. At this poin CF would lower the volume by say 90%.... and I would speak my command. Then I release the button.

Not perfect, but much better than having the music pull commands for me like mad...!
