Is this Possible? I'm sure one of you smart guys can help me :)

I would like to make a button called "VIDEOS" and have it link directly to my video paths folder.

As of now I have to click on MEDIA >>> VIDEO PATHS >>> to access video.

Does anyone know how to make a button that links directly to that folder? David?

    All help is appreciated

Make a batch file that has this in it:

    start explorer c:\path\to\myVidzDir

    Save it to "c:\Program Files\Flux Media\myVidzDir.bat"

Create a new ext. app put in the app name, patch to the bat fileapp name the window name (make one up) . It wont show up unless you put all three.

Map your new VIDEOS button to the new ext. app you created.

the approach tc_install suggests might work, but the issue is that CF wants to embed anything you configure like this. It might open a DOS COMMAND window and embed it when you run it, which will look ugly. Plus, you would have to manually exit it from CF every time.

I have asked David to allow people to run applications without embedding, but he either doesn't understand the need, or thinks it is not a need altogether. Go figure!

    Cool

If you aren't digging the command prompt then just point the ext. app to launch c:\Windows\explorer.exe and give of c:\myPath\to\Video as the app. param/arg.

    No batch file needed really.

    Also,
    • make sure the setting "on top" is off.
    • and write in the window title of whatever the directory is.

Unfortunately, my Centrafuse on my laptop is complaining about registration (AGAIN!!!! ARghh!) so I cant test this no batch file method out .

Lemme know if this works for you.

sorry about the registration problems... It was a mess up with the year rollover and 1.5 license files... I am working hard to get 1.6 out, but the move I just made across the country killed 2 weeks of productivity....

TC_INSTALL I tried the 2nd idea and what it does is open up the VIDEO folder in windows. It did show up full screen but when you exit centrafuse it Shuts down the entire windows explorer and the windows error message pops up. Let me know if you get the same thing

I wish I could try right now. My laptop wont take any new license files.

No biggy. My car is still running fine (I hope). I have it working very nicely with VLC and the batch script file in the car.

At the moment I plan to uninstall all my mpeg4 codec/programs and install ffdshow and acfilter. That should make my video files play a lot better within Centrafuse natively.

You mean it shuts down the Windows Explorer window or Windows Explore?
