now i dont know if this is plausable but is there someway that all the mp3s are regualted to the same volume/pitch including videos?, ive tried mp3gain but it just takes to long to do all my mp3s and any new ones that i gain, so im thinking maybe an active gain could be added?

I've had strange results with the normalisation in CF. It seems to dynamically adjust the volume rather than simply setting it once for the whole MP3. It seems to happen mostly on music that starts with a lot of midrange and treble, with the bass kicking in after a few bars, suddenly the midrange and treble plumet in volume.
I've also found that the majority of my MP3s play too quiet with normalisation enabled.
I have rewritten normalization in 1.6... It works a lot better...Originally Posted by Lum

Yeah, in CF 1.4 (and maybe 1.5) the darn thing would normalize within a song, instead of ACROSS ALL SONGS. So, for example, it would make certain parts of a given song softer, and other parts louder, in an attempt to make it all 'sound at the same volume'.
Not sure how David rewrote this, but as a general rule, you should never modify the volume within a song. But it is OK to modify the volume of the WHOLE song to make it equal/similar to other mp3 files. i.e., you apply a gain to the whole song (and not just here and there...)
