    Auto pause upon hibernate?

I have a remote start in my car, so when I initially startup the car and carputer, I don't want any music playing. Is there a way to have centrafuse pause whatever is playing so that when I resume from hibernation all that I have to do is hit the play button?

Centrafuse has a "action on hibernate/resume/standby, etc." function.

You'll find it in the Settings.

This seems to be geared towards running a program on hibernate/resume, however it would easily run some sort of script.

There is a program called Autohotkey that can do all kinds of stuff in script form, (sending a pause keyboard shortcut would be easy).

You can even compile the Autohotkey script into a standalone EXE.

I can't recall the CF shortcut for Pause right now, otherwise I'd whip it up for you, myself.

Once I can get back in my car and see what that shortcut is, I'll post you a solution.

    Thumbs up

    Tuckie,

    Here's a solution:

Attached is a zip containing a little script called "resumepause".

This script was built using Autohotkey (http://www.autohotkey.com).

I've included the script source (.ahk) and a standalone executable (no autohotkey install required).

    This script does the following:

-Sets Centrafuse to be the active window (just in case).
-Sends Ctrl-Alt-P (pause/play shortcut) to CF.
    -Exits

Unzip this in a folder you can remember on your CarPC.

To run it when CF resumes/starts/whatever follow these instructions.

-In Centrafuse, go to Settings and select General.
-Go to Page 2 and click the "Click to Setup" button underneath "Startup/Shutdown Commands"
-Choose your appropriate selection (in this example, "Resume"), by clicking it and then tap the right arrow (>) sign at the bottom.
-A blank page will display. Click the + sign on the right to add a command to run on Resume.
-Navigate to where you unzipped the resumepause.exe (or .ahk if you prefer to install Autohotkey and use it).
-Click the resumepause.exe file and click OK below.
-A box prompting you for parameters will pop up. Just leave it blank and hit the Enter key.
-Tap the Close key and then Close once more and finally Save.

Congratulations, you should have your system pause on resume just like you want it.

If you want the music to pause on a fresh boot/start as well, follow the same instructions and replace Resume with whatever startup function you want to control.

    Hope this helps.

It should also be noted that you may be able to go into CF's settings and turn Autoplay Media OFF and not have your music play on startup.

I'm not sure if this works for Resume, however.

Either way, you've got options to accomplish what you want.

    Best of luck...

what about having it so it pauses for like 4 seconds and then unpauses?

    Done...attached.

All this is quite easy with Autohotkey (source included).

    -Activates CF window
    -Sends Control-Alt-P to pause
    -Sleeps for 4 secounds
-Activates CF window (just in case)
    -Sends Control-Alt-P to play
    -Exits

    Good luck...

thanks, I got the exe working on resume... although for some reason centrafuse couldn't see the exe if I just placed it in the C drive.

Do you know if there is a way for it to detect whether or not it is already paused? Perhaps veetid could hook me up with a separate hotkey for pause?
