    Album Art Etc...

I have seen in many of the skins people with the album art all organized and polished looking for like every artist they have ex. http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5...anager20wl.jpg... Is this done by importing cds all to their own folder or through iTunes or something else? What if we have a bunch of mp3's, is there a way to set like each artist to have their own lil image no matter what album its on?

i apologize if this is wrong section, but i dont know if the import process differs from front end to front end

Centrafuse reads album art in many ways... The best way, IMOP, is to have your music organized in a folder structure of Artist/Album/Songs

Then have a folder.jpg file in every album folder... This is what you will end up with if you rip a CD with WMP or MusicMatch and many others...

You can use a program called the GodFather to help fix your tags...

I also support reading album art directly from each individual file, so you could embed album art in your mp3 with ID3V2 tags, but I personally don't like images in my music files...

I think the latest version of the GodFather might even have album art download support, but not sure...

If not like you said, there are plenty of other programs and plenty of sites to get the album art from...

Latest GodFather has the ability to lookup Album art on AMAZON (and other sites) based on the ID3 tags... still takes a number of clikcs, but it is quite convenient.

    GF rocks for everything else.

is it possible to have a folder for each artist with a picture in each folder and browse by artist this way instead of by album?

I work for PhatNoise and our PhatNoise Media Manager Plus (costs money) uses GraceNote to download art for all your MP3s automatically without a single click. I ran it on my collection of 6000+ songs which is mostly singles (no complete albums) and it embedded album art in each of the ID3 tags in about 3 hours (no user intervention). I have only noticed about 3 songs that had the wrong album art, so it was pretty accurate.

This is not a plug... I'm sure there are other programs that do this now, maybe even free ones. I was just looking for this since 1999 and the first time I ever found a program that does it was when my company made it in 2004.
