David: I do not know if this is already possible with skinning, but I would like a "delete currently playing song" button in the main "now-playing" screen. I hear **** in my collection sometimes that I never want to hear again, but I am too lazy to go into the media manager and delete it. I'd rather just hit next track and continue listining to music.

During installation it goes to setup, you set your music path, then it should ask if you want to import your music into the library... Once you hit yes it should just start reading automatically and work...

Check your error.log file in the main Centrafuse folder and either email it to support or post anything relevant you see...

What are the correct steps to removing and rebuilding a searchable library. I don't want to uninstall CF 1.6 and then reinstall to get the main setup. Is there an easier way? I am having a terrible time when I go to Media Manager and try to search for Artist, Albums, etc and nothing is there. I have to select Music Path to even see my MP3's. This is the first time this has happen and I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Go to settings/library and click Rebuild...

this will reimport all your music from your selected paths...

I had tried that several times, but it still didn't resolve the issue. I ended up deleting the "MAIN" file from C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse and then running the installer to repair the installation. After that the library rebuild worked. Thanks for the quick response, and the app is the best!

can you email your error.log file in the main Centrafuse folder, if it exists... I would like to know how this happened... Rebuild should have worked without having to delete main.dat...

glad you got it working though!

Well this just happened to me. I was trying to get used to Centrafuse on my PC and learning to import music files, and I somehow managed to delete all of my music files! I did a search on here and this popped up. I checked all my folders and even ran a search on my computer, and none of the files that I'd selected for the music path showed up. WTF happened?

That sux man. Ive used many frontends including CF and never had them fudge up my actual filesystem.

    Angry Happened to me too

    Hi,

This is my first post so I've only just had to click through the forum rules. In this case I may be in breach of the "General Product Bashing" clause, but anyway.

I downloaded the latest Centrafuse demo, and while I was setting it up I wanted to remove a directory I'd erroneously added to the audio paths. The program warned me about deleting files (to be fair), but call me naiive, I never expected it to actually delete files off the filesystem itself! So it's taking quite a long time and after a couple of minutes I start wondering if Centrafuse IS actually deleting files. Seems ridiculous but I can't be bothered to wait any longer so kill the task. Oh dear. #### me! That's 1/2 my E drive gone. YEARS and GIGABYTES worth of music and videos, photos, downloads. All gone! What The ####???? I'm currently attempting to undelete it all onto another drive using "Freeundelete 2.0". Last time I used it it was a bit hit and miss so if anyone's got any recommendations it'd be much appreciated.

But what complete LOON decided that CF would have the power by default to delete everything and anything on your hard drive? OK I know it was technically my fault for pressing Yes, but even iTunes makes it genuinely obvious if it's going to mess with your filesystem. So a suggestion to the developers - There should be an option to "Allow CF to alter your filesystem", and it should be OFF by default. Not that in future I'll be enjoying that particular functionality - I find it $124 cheaper to simply press Shift, Del and "Yes to All".

Anyway, I now feel slightly better for the ranting. Sorry if I've upset or offended anyone but I need the catharsis.

Rich (going for a quiet lie down)

    Rich,

I feel your pain. I agree CF should simply not ever delete files through the standard interface. It's just too dangerous. You are not the first one to do this BTW. I have read some others doing the same thing!
