Adding Gesturing option in CF

Hi David,

I have tested StreetDeck yesterday and I was really impressed by the "GESTURING" feature.

I am not making ads for streetdeck but have you benchmarked their soft??

Gesturing allow to pilot the soft like a PDA does. (like draw letters, next song with horizontal left to right line...)

I don't know if i have rights to post screen shots.

I think this came up before qnd David said that research he did showed that people did not like it much while driving.

Personally I watched the RR communities reaction to it, and from what i saw it was generally not well received.

If i understand, you say that David has always ask users and conclude that it is not needed by end users...isn't it?

That is the one good thing about Street Deck. It would be awesome if CF could add this. I'm not saying it should replace an OSK, but it should be there as an alternative. Even not doing letters at all, just using it for next/prev track would be cool.

Actually, this could be a totally separate app from CF. Just like the accessibility on-screen keyboard program but with no graphics, it just reads the mouse and sends keys to the focused app.

I wonder if anything like that already exists... off to

RPM: Yes, a standalone utility exists. I found a shareware/freeware app that tied gestures to just about anything you couldimagine. Keystrokes, commands, etc... search for my posts and you will find it... keyword: 'gesture' Im almost sure...

Any hoo... so if you pre-configure that outside of CF, you can make CF behave exactly like StreetDeck. David doesn't have to code anything (unless he wants to build it in after the 2.0 release).

EDIT to JIT: Were you talking about the same program? I could not find your post by that key term (gesture) or in the first 3 pages of your post list.

Not really aggre. I think it would be good for letters.By having tried SDeck, I could say that I am able to write text (in OSK mode) without seeing the Screen...It is really secure..isn't it?
You want to search a song in Media manager so you look at the screen to hit Media Manager button then search button and after that, you keep your eyes on road and could write the name of what you search in "blind mode"
