I saw this over in the RR forum

This could be a good hardware option for bluetooth integration. Parrot provides bluetooth integration for the new pioneer (i know for sure) and i think kenwood bluetooth add on modules. We sell the parrot hands free modules (ck3100, etc.)and there phone compatibility is awesome.
It's control could be a plugin, just like PhoneCo. So those that like PhoneCo as an inexpensive bluetooth solution could use it. But those that either have an unsupported phone, or desire increased functionality and reliability would have an option as well.

Thanks for the thread link.
...I still don't get it. What does the hardware module do that a BlueTooth USB dongle can't? My phone already supports dialing from voice and everything... I can do that with a BT Headset. I do wish phone-co supported my phone so I could see a list of contacts on my touch screen.

Undoubtadly, this will require some SW from Parrott, but if the unit works like thier phone units, it will far surpass PhoCo, since PhoCo seems to have some issues with the control protocol and with certain phones.
There is probably a reason that Streetdeck uses/will use the Parrott unit, instead of just any old dongle with some sort of PhoCo varient.
