I like the new OSK, looks like I'm able to see the names scroll by as I type.

I also see that there is no space for international chars on the first page of the OSK. Looks like I have to press 123.. before getting to those chars

Please make room for a few international buttons on the OSK. 3 more buttons is what scandinavians need. But european languages in general need a few extra buttons.

Or... Instead of adding international buttons. Integrate them with the closest char like TomTom does. So if I write an address like this skoyen I will find skøyen. This might be a Destinator issue and I dont know if ND already supports this.

The keyboard is completly configurable by a xml file. You can decide what shows up on both screens the ABC or the 123 and you can change that button to say whatever you want...

Looks nice - as good as IGuidance IMHO. Even with the excellent work PURDooM has done on IGMod, IGuidance doesn't have a seamless interface. Full integration of Destinator will be nice, though I sure hope the US routing is acceptable.

David - I just got Destinator PN from someone as a present. Will these maps work with the next version(s) of CF or will I need something else?!

It's very useful if all the other drivers in your company also use satnav systems, once one of us has managed to locate the site it gets marked as a favourite and the co-ordinates are shared.

The actual point you need to drive to will often vary wildly from the street address given eg. to actually park, you may need to use the back of the building which is accessed from a service road which itself is inaccessible from the front of the building without making a second trip around the one-way system. There are also enough unnamed roads and roads that don't exist on the map because they don't officially exist that it becomes necessary.

On the Garmin StreetPilot III entering co-ordinates is messy, you have to create a new Waypoint (ie. favourite) which can only be done by marking your current location. Then you can edit the co-ordinates before saving. Hopefully with CF it can just be an extra option along with City/Street, Street/Zip and so on.

The new destinator is looking good, though I still think the buttons and info should be moved to the side.

Sometimes it's the only way to navigate to locations that are marked as "off-road" terrain.

For instance, the only way to quickly locate the correct parking lot in Flushing Meadow Park for our NY meets is via lat/long..

BTW, since I didn't mention it before, the Destinator integration looks fantastic.

Looking amazing.... assuming you can support large maps without a problem (which just about all Destinator gps developers have been unable to solve - except FD and MM) I'm surely going to test this out!

The problem (which was present in other CF versions that had builtin gps) is that even though you enter a correct address in the address screen, destinator tries to route you somewhere half-a-city away... it is surely a bug in Destinator (I tested only on D3, but am unsure if they changed things enough to fix this in the new Dest)...

anyways, if I can help you test, please email or pm me. I can test for you on large maps and tell you how it works...

    cheers & looks badass!

I have tried asking you about this in a long thread and I do belive you have no idea of what I am talking about... Maybe its my writing.

Your OSK has only 27 buttons and that is fine for English, but for other languages that use the same 27 letters plus another 3 for that spesific language, 27 buttons will never be enough. So if I can change the xml of the keyboard I can swap some buttons, but it wont give me a correct OSK. Most languages will need 30 buttons on a OSK to be complete, all european languages exept one uses more than 27 letters.

Even if you only intend on selling your product in the US, almost half the population speak spanish... And spanish has more than 27 letters in it's alphabet.

But as I said earlier if the adress can be typed with normal english keyboard, then there will be no need for more buttons. The problem with Destinator 3 is that adresses with international chars don't show. So if I write only "Sk" I can scroll for a few minutes to find Skøyen, but if I write Skoyen I will never find Skøyen. TomTom has solved this by mapping the international chars to their closest english letter. So O will show all adresses with O and all adresses with any variant of char that uses an O. So in TomTom I can write Skoyen and find Skøyen.
