if you go to a hyndai dealer & check out there offerings, & decide it's not a good enough car for you for whatever reason, do you:
A) hound hyndai to build the car you would like to see, or
B) go find a different car that suits your needs & expectations?
to me, you'd be a frickin idiot to stand out side the hyndai dealership with a picket sign, saying something like HYNDAI SHOULD BUILD QUITER CARS, HYNDAI SHOULD INSTALL XENON HEADLIGHTS & ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION, ETC.... just go get a benz & leave it at that...
if roadrunner is so much better, or anything else for that matter, why even complain here in the centrafuse forums about ANYTHING with centrafuse?
there are a lot of different front ends out there.... if you like one & don't like another, FOR WHATEVER REASON, just use what you like.....
why is everyone hounding david like he owe's them?
why?
I'll tell you why....
because centrafuse is just an awsome front end, THAT'S WHY!!!
you got a taste of it & you love it, plain & simple..... so lifes not perfect & everything can't revolve around your wants & demands, SO WHAT....
you got a taste of it & you can't do without it..... but acting like an idiot spoiled child who can't get what they want isn't going to do any good at all.... nobody told you you have to try this, you can't have anything else....
you gotta be a moron to sit there & hound someone who owes you nothing, & critisize & demand & complain.......
after a while, I don't blame david one bit when he says SCREW YOU....
you don't like it? it don't work for you?, no problem... there are plenty of alternatives out there.....
it's amazing what goes on with the demanding & complaining....... david released this & offered you an oportunity to try it, & have input towards it's development...... no one said YOU have to try it, no one said YOU have to like it, no one owes you anything...... if you don't like it, GO AWAY>..
ahhh, but you can't.... because of why?
because centrafuse is just an awsome front end... & when it is finished it will be one of the best front ends out there, there is no denying that...... if you can't understand that sometimes things take longer than anticipated, or your just a demanding prick who wants what he want's, when he wants it, then GO AWAY!!!!!
the reason why, when someone attacks david there are a bunch of fans that come & flame the complainer is real simple, most logical normal people understand this, & don't see why you need to be an idiot about it... it's one thing to want more, it's quite another to demand crap from someone who owes you NOTHING...... I'll say it one more time, GO AWAY!!!!!
this thread is NOT INTENDED as a personal attack towards anyone in particular, & if you were my best friend I would still tell you the same, use what you like..... WTF is so hard about that......
so with that, we understanding normal people will sit & wait... & hope, & maybe even beg a little,.... but once you step up & start demanding.... I'm amazed at how much david has taken already..... some have complained about his profesionalisim.... I would have told some to go screw themselves long ago....
david,from the normal people here

Why the negatives? because letting the developers know what they are not doing incorrectly is as important (if not more) than pointing out what they are doing correctly. A comment like the "CF music library is just awesome" is likely less useful that "CF music library sucks because XYZ".
Internet forums are all about criticism, the problem is it often devolves to nonsense. Suggestions on features are as valid as suggestion on how to be more "professional", and i think most users have believed that the point of CF discussion is to have both sides represented.
Yet now i think FluxMedia has had enough of the criticism, and they have made it clear that they dont want suggestions about how to run their company. I think most critical suggestions were given in a general helpful spirit, but since they dont want to hear it we should shutup.
On a side note: i do have a little problem with the censoring on the CF board, recent posts have been deleted and locked. As far as i know this is not FluxMedia's forum, if they want editorial control, move the forum to their own site.
theres a difference between constructive critisizim & outright complaining & bashing........
the whole perpose of releasing something like this here is for all the constructive critisizim....... notice the word constructive though......... there is no good way to give distructive critisizim....
as far as the locking of threads...... that's a tough call..... I can't really say I fault david much for that..... if someone did graffiti all over your wall you'd clean it up too....

I agree also that constructive critisizim is very important. But the last few posts are all but that...
I think that Flux media is fed up with poeple saying "Your software sucks... I wish it gets hacked...". This is definitely not constructive critisizim...

I have to side with the Flux-supporters above... for a number of reasons:
1. This is a Beta program for a future commercial product. No release is/was expected to be fault free and the developer has no commitment to any testers. Instead, we, as beta-testers, are making a commitment to the developer to help him build the best, bug-free product... and some do so in exchange for a discount on the final commercial product once it's released... or perhaps stock options when FluxMedia goes public (hint, hint). The point: as a beta-tester, you are working FOR the developer as he is planning to "pay" you by giving you a discount or otherwise sacrifice revenue in exchange for your "work". You're not the customer.
If you're just looking for free software, signing up as a beta-tester isn't for you. This is 'beta', not 'freeware'.
2. Regarding the 'customer', I honestly have no idea about FluxMedia's business strategy. But I do know just a little about the car-infomatics/infotainment industry. Trying to find a niche as a commercial front-end is tough. During the beta-testing, it might make sense to target us... the weekend hobbyist, but there's no money in that long-term. In the bigger picture, companies like QNX and Siemens make for stiff competition. If Microsoft and Apple are seriously going to compete in the embedded O/S market for OEM infotainment, they need front-ends that are fast, feature-rich and user-friendly. MS and Apple could/would then go to the Chrysler's and Toyota's of the world, with CF bundled into their product, saying, "Hey... we can beat QNX and Siemens because this is Windows... the environment your customers are familiar with. It's totally customizable... even skinnable."
For a lot of techies on this board, that might not be a factor when you go to buy a new car. But put yourself in the shoes of a non-techie. To buy a new car with a 'back-end engine' that supports radio, navigation, bluetooth/phone-control, etc... but runs on Windows and is customizable to whatever level you're comfortable with... that's a HUGE selling factor over the current OEM systems that stick you with the manufacturer's interface.
3. I've been running CF since 1.4, when I built my first car-puter a year or so ago. I guess this relates to #1, but I always knew this was a BETA product, I downloaded and installed with the expectation that I would provide constructive feedback, not about what I personally didn't like about it, but what I thought would make the product better for the community-at-large. Sometimes things don't work as expected. In those cases, you report it, move on and wait for a future release. I'm actually VERY surprised that David has given in to so many 'new feature requests' (and I'm at fault for making those too). But even as a Beta product, CF surpasses anything else I've tried.
4. I don't know David, but I gather that he has a family. And it's none of our business, but I don't know if he's managing FluxMedia full-time, or if he's trying to get it off its feet and doing so part-time while he is holding another job. Either way, as a start-up, I know he is making tons of personal sacrifices. As CF stands, it's the best front-end out there and I'm grateful to have it. While he might say "screw you" to a few individuals, I'm glad he hasn't said "screw it" to the project and moved on to other things.
So... the moral of the story to those whining and complaining... step yourselves up a notch or two from your weekend hobby and look at CF for what it is and will be.
Oh, and David... if #2 above hasn't occurred to you, we should talk. :-)

What a lovely set of posts to come back to after a few days away (I refer to the closed threads, of course)
At the end of the day, when you signed up to get the new version(s) of CF you were agreeing to beta test the product for FluxMedia. You were not just filling in a form to get some free warez. The purpose of any beta program is ultimately designed to benefit the developers, not you. The fact that you get to play with an excellent piece of software that you haven't paid a penny for and that you would otherwise have had no access to is merely a byproduct.
If that's not what you thought you were signing up for then go away and download the next cracked .ISO of Vista or something, then go and post LOLz Micro$oft sucks threads when you find a bug in it.
If you had actually paid money for the thing then you would be justified in complaining if Flux refused to release a bugfix because they were waiting for a fix for (some other random feature that you personally don't give a crap about) but expecting them to do additional work in backporting fixes during the initial development of a product is just taking the ****. To be honest I'm suprised that people still get to use 1.4 as that dosn't help test the current version or get it ready for release.
So yes if there's bugs or things you don't like or think could be done better then post about them. David has acknowledged most if not all of them. Especially the embedding bug so please shut up about iGuidance. We know already!
I dont get why some of yall are like this. This Is Beta Software!! Each version will be done when its done. This forum is here for Bugs, Skins, Plugins, SDK, FAQS, Suggestions, and Mabe some friendly talk ABOUT Centrafuse. Thats it no Whens it going to be out, and David you said its going to be out in april but now its May still no release. Betas usually never go to plan. Take Firefox It been pushed back many of times. When it released it released. I support David 100% and will but the software even if its $200. So please quit Grumping.
