NEWB - XM Direct problems

Hi guys, I've just completed my install. My media works great, thanks David for such a nice Frontend design. But now I'm troubleshooting two things, first -

my XM Direct is not working properly. It is connected thru the mp3car.com serial-USB converter, and I installed (I think) the driver from mp3car.com site. I don't know how to find which com port it's on though, and I can't get any audio from it, just noise/static.

second - I am hesitant to purchase any destinator maps or software due to CF2.0 using a different destinator version. Is this right to assume? It sounds like PN is different from version 3.

If anyone can help me with CF, XM Direct with serial to USB conversion I'd appreciate it.

Also any advice on the destinator aspect would be cool too.

I don't know about the Destinator issue, but David posted in his remaining bugs post that XM Direct doesn't work yet.

Yes, you should hesitate to doo that.... CF 2.0 will not use D3, already in the next version CF 1.7 there will be a new Destinator plugin. I' would not even buy PN until it is confirmed that PN maps will work. CF.17 is not using PN but a version called ND.
