We should start a bet and people can call out the 2 weeks they think it will get released.

    I call September 10 - 23 this year.

i've tried almost every front end i could find and even though i dont have a touchscreen to fully take advantage of centrafuse and hell its damn difficult without it currently. (thankfully i m doing out of vehicle testing currently) it is the best damn piece of work i've seen and i will quite glad come the day i cna purchase it. hell if there were a preorder i'd jump on it now.
this is 1 of the greatest pieces of software i have seen and have already convinced a few people who dont have car pc's to put it in their laptop for use with the machine sitting on the pass seat or maybe even adding a laptop mount.

my hats off to you and all those who have contributed

Internal testing is all well and good but why have you completely disregarded EXTERNAL testing
We're all willing to beta test yet you shut us out

That's not exactly fair. He wants to catch issues before they're issues, perfectly understandable. Plus, most of the delay (at least as far as I can figure) was due to the 3rd party vendor delays, which puts a delay on testing those pieces, which delays the whole thing.

    Give 'im a break.

Hey He had alot of bugs and is fixing all of them before the new release. So why not do alot of internal testing while he is fixing them? I am very Happy he did this. Means a very stable release. Cant wait till its released.

Think of what Sony did with the PS2...

There wasn't really a chip problem...

They were just "dangling the bait" so that people would be even more excited about it coming out....

    Peace,

Hehehe... i guess i have to make an entry if im invited. And quite frankly it is coming to an end I have finally found a frontend which lets me put cf into past without missing it too much. Well been looking for replacing solution ever since plans for 1.6 were made public and one just fell into my laps from living room. Ive been working hard on HTPC lately, on expense of carputer and i use FE called Xlobby in my theatre. Got really into it and realised that it will work great in car too. Its just pure front end, so it leaves u to customize backend how u like, and provides realtime drag n click skin editor, which even i can use adapt skins for my purposes. However i dont think it is a solution for avarage centra-joe... Because of high amount of work and skills needed for customization.

But im glad guys are getting it finally out... hope it turns great!

I use Xlobby on my HTPC too, but only for music. It takes way too much work to setup a database for TV episodes. Only reason I wouldnt use it in a car is because there is no GPS solution for it yet I dont think (other than running the GPS app as a seperate window of course).
