Thread: New Release, Centrafuse RC1 (1.7)

Hi,

cf 1.7 won´t install on my desktop pc.

When installing cf 1.7 it claims that a previous version of centrafuse is already installed - but there is no version installed, i removed them months ago.

To perform the uninstallation of that version, it tries to access the centrafuse.msi of the older version.

I don´t have that *.msi - and i don´t know what version i installed last year.
(And i don´t want to download old software to install new software)

So .. nice try, but doesn´t work here .. and i stay with cf 1.2 in car (working perfect !) until the final release (with a better installer) is out.

That's a shame, because there are a lot of improvements... Not sure what all will change with the installer without more information... I fully tested the installer with previous versions installed/uninstalled from multiple machines...

All I can tell is somehow an older version did not properly uninstall...

Okay,

as this is still a beta test, i will do my very best to get a stable, final, commercial release:

My machine is running windows xp sp 2 with all the latest updates from microsoft.

I use this machine to test new stuff befor i install it in my car.
I had installed all releases from 1.1 onwards, but when i examine my system right now, it looks like centrafuse was never installed:

- in c:\programms\ the is no centrafuse / fluxmedia folder
- in the startmenu there is no entry for centrafuse / fluxmedia and
- in system control\software there is also no centrafuse / fluxmedia entry

Thats my problem, if there was anything to uninstall i would do so, but ... i can´t find anything. (okay, right now i don´t have the time to examine the registry)

So .. i can´t install 1.7.

But don´t get me wrong .. i am still with 1.2 and cf 1.2 is running really good. It´s fast enough for me in my car, it is very very stable and i can relay 100% on it.

In two days i start travelling to italy and ... i relay on centrafuse for entertainment and navigation.

So .. i will use it till the final release will be out .. which i surely will buy - when its working ;-)

I love this new release! Best one yet by far.

Anyone else having issues downloading through firefox? or is it because i'm using FireFox 2 beta
