I'm sure many people here are using VIA motherboards and this is probably a universal issue. All VIS modules run pretty slowly on a sub-1Ghz system @ 640x480->840x480

Is there any chance of adding the capability to have the VIS generated for only 1/4 resolution of the viewport and then scaled via a fast linear scaler algorithm? It would speed up the VIS playback by at least 3.5 times, and reduce CPU load.
