Thread: complete beginner, few questions, thanks for help!

CF includes its own GPS and maps so you don't have to go buy it seperately. Once its comercial, you do have to pay for it.

Its really easy to setup. Just install .NET framework 1.1, installed the CF msi and your done. As for codecs, i recommend using ffdshow.

Now the time has come, and I have the opportunity to finish my carpc at last! The last piece of hardware i will be getting is a touchscreen LCD. I'm gonna go with a motorized flipout.

1) It looks like centrafuse is about to become commercial. If I setup everything now, will this "trial" expire? Will we have to pay for it in the future?

2) Is there a "quickstart" or "complete beginners/idiots" guide to setup centrafuse? Like what other applications are required (Dvd decoders, iGuidance software, etc)

3) Is there a proven list of things to NOT remove from nLite to make everything work correctly?

4) Which GPS software is the most popular? I still have a copy of Map Monkey + Destinator3 from waaaay back in the day, but it looks like iGuidance 3 has become the most popular GPS solution.
