The single click and playlist issues's are known...
The main media player screen is always singleclick...
david
IDK if its happening to anyone else but half the time. After shuting down windows or just exiting CF it forgets where I was in the playlist or forgets the playlist all together. Also I enabled single click and didnt like it. I click the down arrow or up arrow and it just keep on going that way like I was holding it down. So I disabled it and for somereason single click stayed on the media player and only removed it self from the library window.

Really? I thought JIT did that in his Nexus SKIN. I had no idea CF does that by default now. LAME! If I want to add a song to favorites without listinging to it, I have to use the keyboardI use to be able to click it once and then click favorites and it would keep playing the song I was listening to. This makes it very hard to re-build my favorites list after every release :P
Side note: I tried looking for the favorites.db when upgrading from RC1 to RC2, but I could not find it. What exactly do we backup/restore so we don't lose our favorites playlist every new version?

I too liked being able to highlight a song without having it play automatically.... not a big deal, but I think it was nicer doubleclick, but with most having small touchscreens & no mouse, I guess that's where all the requests for single click comes from...
MY NEWEST INSTALL:modded infiniti fx with big screen
first windows carpc install........my liquid cooled LVDS screen :D
Where is main.dat located? I can't find it.
I really like single-click, but it makes it imposible to do somethings. It would be best if it were single click, but press and hold for 1 second for selection without clicking. That way you have the best of both worlds... single-click makes it easy, but you still have the ability to highlight without clicking. Of course, then your alphabet thing wouldn't work anymore. (honestly I would rather have two buttons to go to next/prev letter rather than the current letter-seek which requires full attention to the LCD until you select by releasing and it is very hard to not be one or two letters off)
I guess you cannot please everyone... I am hearing valid points from everyone, and personally I still prefer single click over everything else because it requires less attention from myslef. Kinda gets on your nerves when you have to think whether a single click here, or double click there, or click hold for 2 secs, or even 5 secs.... but there are good reasons to have all that.![]()

I know you feel that way JIT and I tend to agree. That's why I want everything single click, but if CF has the ability to perform an action on a selected item (ie: Marking a song as Favorite) then I still want the ability of highlighting without selecting. That's why I suggested a press-and-hold as a secondary function (highlight instead of select).
I suppose David could easily make single click just reverse the double/single scripts so that in single-click mode, a double-click would highlight. I would be ok with that, I just think press-and-hold is more intuitive for selecting. A hold then drag could even select multiple just like dragging a selection box around files in windows explorer. (plus I really hate the letter-seek thing)
Using the double-click to highlight (or hold to highlight) would be purely optional, so it should not interfere with how JIT expects it to work, it just adds the functionality of double-click mode to single-click mode.
