Centra Fuse Running like crap

Ive got a Mini ITX 800mhz 512mb ram running as my carputer, I've put CF on it and it runs like complete **** I cant even adjust the volume when I start playing a song it just lags and ****s up soooo much, Ive even set CF as the Shell to allow for more resources to be freed up, anyone got any suggestions? Right now a new mobo/cpu is out of the question due to money issues later this year ill be upgradeing mini itx's. But for now Id rather use CF then Media Engine (Which ran fan on this setup) IS CF just that much more of a resource hog then Media Engine?

CF needs more resources because it runs on .NET.

i have pentium 500mhz , 512mb ram, and running perfectly.. only i must wait very much time when i search music in folders

Interesting, anyone know of anyway to free up some more processor speed, or get the program to run a bit better, little tips and tricks or anything. Cause Ive tried everything

Seems it only gets really bad when I start playing music...

I had the exact same setup and experienced similar problems. I switched to RR until I upgraded my system to at least the M10000.

set it as Shell

but before you do, go into msconfig and disable any startup items/driver etc you don't wanna use.

Tried that, Disabled all services i didnt need, set CF as the shell, still kicking my systems ***

memory?

Virus/Spyware etc?

Is windows fully updated?

Other thing I've notice slow my CarPC down drastically was HOT harddrive and case. Cooling fixed it

512 megs of memory, No Virus or Spyware, Ive downloaded only on my Virus/spyware proteced computer and flashdrived over the files. Bah, Im going to test out Roadrunner tonight, might have to use it till I get a new System around christmas time
