Any remote that can emulate keystrokes will work just fine. I occasionally use an ATI Remote Wonder on my CF setup but any Girder setup should be just as functional; just map buttons to their keystroke shortcuts in CF.
Hey is there any possible way to get a remote control to work with centerfuse, would GIRDER work on centerfuse ?
Thanks

I recently bought one at CompUSA because I needed one fast. 20bucks, and works well. IR though, so probably not for car use. If you go local, then they probably have better ones there. If not shop online.
My favourite remote of all is the ATI Remote Wonder that came bundled with my Radeon All in Wonder Pro video card. RF, and free! Best two things!

I've bought new mobile phone few days ago (Nokia 6233). One really useful software is included - Nokia Wireless Presenter.
It works over bluetooth and you can configure every single aplication you want (even Desktop). Winamp, Powerpoint, Desktop and Windows Media Player are supported by default.
I've added Centrafuse to the list and I have to say it is amazingI can go now out of the car and control Centrafuse with my mobile phone
The software is beautiful and fast
The configuration is the same as software for PowerMate. You just select what each button on mobile phone send to computer (combination of keys). For example... down key on mobile send F9 to Centrafuse (volume down), up key send F10 (volume up), left - previous track, right - next track, middle button - music video full screen etc... # for exit centrafuse, you also have number 1-9 (for media, gps, mixer, ...)... amazing, I was happy like a kid with new toy![]()
Probably there exist similar software for other phones too...
Regards!

thats cool, i have a 8800, do you know if its supported?
Probably yes. Check on Nokia offical website for "Nokia Wireless Presenter" - one exe to your PC and one Symbian application for your phone.
IR works great in the car. That's what all head-units use.
I suggest you get a USB-UIRT. Then you can use it with Girder to learn any IR and to send any IR. For a remote you just buy a real car-remote or steering wheel remote from Pioneer, Kenwood, or Sony. You can also use it to send IR to your car-sterio (if you have one) and your LCD screen (like send IR to change to back-up cam for 10 seconds and then back to VGA).
that nokia software is for sybian only![]()
