ID3 Tags

I am having a problem just like some others in that a whole ton of songs (couple thousand) show up as unknown artist and album, but the song title is correct. I have found that this may be iTunes as the poblem. Every since the update for itunes (7 I think), my songs showed up as this unkown artist and album in both centrafuse, windows media player, and the 360. iTunes shows them fine as well as XBOX media center. So my finger points to iTunes but I don't know how to fix it

i have this trouble too, i think it has to do with v1 vs v2 id3 tags. if you synch your tags it fixes the problem. it would be nice not to have to do that though...

Ive found that you have to convert your tags to version 2.3 using itunes.

Works a treat.

Why would itunes set their tags to v2.2 they wer using something else before that worked awesome. I still prefer itunes because it organizes everything so well, but it baffles me, are we sure that this is what the problem is. Are we sure iTunes 7 uses 2.2 or do they have their own coding. I have to say it is quite annoying to have your music tagged in iTunes, but not anything else. Hopefully David can fix this in the next release. Thanks again for all the hard work and the great program.

P.S. do you have any idea what the price will likely be when released?
