Does Centrafuse only need a GPS Antenna?

Antenna or a GPS reciever? Meaning do I need just the antenna on the roof or do I also need a handheld GPS that does all the processing as well?

You need an antenna and receiver.
Units like the BU-353 have the antenna and receiver in one neat little package. There are other setups using an OEM receiver board and an external antenna, as well.

The handheld units you're thinking of would have both receiver and antenna in the same unit, however most don't have the ability to send raw data to the PC.

I want to use the built in GPS in Centrafuse but I dont know how to set it up. I bought a GPS reciever today (Microsoft streets) - and so far i think it sucks. What do i need to do to make the integrated NAV in centrafuse work (instead of just showing NYC). Thanks

wait for CF to go commercial and buy the maps. the NYC map is just a demo map.
