The left "..." has been removed...

I just wanted to see what people thought...

It's back to the way it was with "..." on the right and scrolling...

It still adds "..." to the left to allow you to see what you are typing in the OSK and numberpad...

still thinking about the song - artist... This breaks the searching because there is no order to the list anymore, but still thinking about it...

the problem is idd like you say it yourself: if you put song - artist, then there is idd no order in the list...
most of the times when there is a ... in my list, it's because the songname is too long (for example artist - song (original club mix) )
if the original club mix is not shown, then i don't care...i can see the artist and the song name
if you put song first, then you can read the songname, the kind of mix (original club mix), but you can not see the artist anymore...

    just my 2 cents

I still like it the way it used to be...

    David,

I plan to add a post later today with a full proposal. I am think about this a little differently, and 'out of the box', if you will. Would not require a lot of changes on your part if you decide it is a good solution.

Tonight I will post with an illustration so it is very clear. Thanks!

    OK, here is a proposal.

I would have to say that if I hear a song from my own library, I KNOW what band is playing it. Heck, we all normally browse by artist before choosing the album anyway, so we are likely to know the artist that is playing. Basically, what we always wonder is : Whats the name of that song? (how many wonder 'what band is playing?')
If you need more info, you go to media manager and look it up...

So, I propose using the top header to display only the song name. If too long, put elipsis at the end.

Then for the Media player, in the title of the list, we put:
    Album - Band
(seems logical to me to group Album and Band, right?)

Finally, in the list, put only song Name.

Add elipsis towards ther end throughout when necessary....

    me too

i do not make folder by album or artist...
so in my list are a lot of different artists, and i would like it if they are sorted by artist and not by song name...
this discussion is going to take forever, so i still vote for making it an option, so every user can select this for his own...
that way david makes everybody happy...
