Shutdown parameters for CF for Playlist saving ?

    Hi David,

I think i have some setting save issues with my CF RC5 install. I just did a reinstall from CF because of some hard shutdowns the settings got corrupted (i think).

When i use the manual close button in CF it saves EXACTLY where a song is playing that moment (i.e. 3mins 40 secs.). When i restart CF manually it then starts again exactly where it left off (3.40s). I have a M2-ATX in my setup and when it sends the shutdown signal the systum does shutdown but when it rebooted CF starts playing from the beginning of the song (0.00s). It does remember the actual song but not the exact time of the song. The M2-ATX does have enough time to shut it down. Also i use Minlogon but it also seems to happen without that.

Are there any solutions by for example creating a batch file that sends CF the correct close command. If i can make a batch file i can add that to CF`s Startup/Shutdown commands list.

I have some long MP3`s (i.e. 1hour) that start from the beginning now everytime i enter the car. Even when i am already listening for 55 mins.

Keep up the Good Work (as always ) !

P.S. I don`t think it`s in the log file but i pasted it here.

those errors have been fixed and not related...

It is suppose to detect your shutdown and do the proper writing... if the setting gets corrupted, which appears to happen now, then it would never be able to save from that point...

in the upcoming release if I detect a corrupt settings file, I rewrite it to the defaults and then continue saving so it will start working again...

this until I figure out why it's corrupting... All I can think is in some cases the system shuts down before it's finished writing... but the system is suppose to wait for all the applications to shutdown...

Ok, i see. But i just did a complete reinstall of Centrafuse (uninstall, reboot and re-install) because of this problem. So the issues with corrupt settings file would have been prior to this. Now it is working right except for writing the exact time from a playing song.

Also, maybe an idea (for the future) is a "Restore Defaults" button that brings it back to factory state.

if you can check, see if it's updating the settings.xml file when you shutdown... this is the file it would write the location from the song to start at during startup...

if that file is not getting written too or changed, then it's not saving properly...

you should also be able to open this file in Internet Explorer and have it be valid XML, if not the file is corrupt and needs to be replaced with another one that isn't...

I detect corrupt config, settings, and other important XML files and restore them automatically in the application now....
